SMIT GENSAN JOINS JOBS FAIR & JOB SYMPOSIUM March 2, 2012 Friday marks a significant day for SMIT General Santos City, TESDA XII and the entire members of the Gensan Sarangani Technical Vocational Schools Association Incorporated (GSTVSAI). The event was sponsored by  Goldenstate College with the leadership of the their school’s president Ms. Josie Tirador Yap, MBA and was held at Robinson’s place General Santos City. The event is  yearly  done by Goldenstate College with their mission to help their students land a job and since the GSTVSAI president is Ms. Yap she collaborated with the TESDA and other relevant agencies like DOLE XII. The event started at around 9:48 in the morning properly opened by Mr. Warren A. Manilay, MNSA the chief Executive officer of Goldenstate College. Its's  my  five years and a half in my profession as a teacher in college. I started my career on 2006. At first it was just out of nothing but trying to pay my gratitude so I accepted the offer as a college instructor in the school where I  graduated my degree. It was not really my desire to teach because i really wanted to work in a radio station as a reporter of a disc jockey. However with the influence of my former teacher and our registrar now she retired, she push me to be one of their  instructors in  the mass communication department. My first day in teaching was not that good. I was eaten by nervousness that made me so fast in speaking and disorganized lecture. Every time I gazed my students as if I was melted like a candle. It was a horrible day for me, my first day in teaching. Then i asked one of my co-teachers and also a mentor, she told to be calm and show some authority in speaking and of course do some research related to my topic.I was hesitant...

        September 13, marks the most significant day of our second mother of SMIT- GENSAN non other than ma'am Bong. A day before her birthday all of us were gathering at the school lobby. We were discussing  on what to do  during her natal day. I decided and told every one  that we will have a surprise birthday "mañanita". Then in the morning we texted  each other on what to do for the entrance. A short practice of the song upstairs was done. Then when everything were all ready, we went her office. I saw mama bong sweeping on the floor at here office then i strummed the guitar and we started to sing a song for her. She was shocked and i could see the tears slowly falling in  her eyes. A tears of happiness that her most significant day in her life was remembered even in a simple way.
