GENSAN CITY 'S QUEEN TUNA PARK : A Beautiful Rendezvous for Family & Friends

Queen Tuna Park in General Santos City

It has been my ten years in General Santos City  since  year 2002 when  I enrolled my college.  I used to walk  from General Santos City public market  going to pioneer avenue.  While walking with my friends  I used to invite them  for a short break  and fine some fresh place where i could breath fresh air.  I grew up in an island I am an "islander", I was born there in the province surrounded by water, that's why  no matter how busy  I am I could still manage myself to find a place in which seashore , sands and water  are visible.  I love fresh air every time it touches my delicate skin it lessens my stress, it refreshes my mind and soul and every time the water drench my  feet it feels like I am home.

One of my friends told me that there is a near place in the city where  I could  have some , I mean for unwind and they said they got some place, its somewhere in Lion's Beach now Queen Tuna Park.  When we went there, the place is grassy, uncleaned and the smell is uninviting, maybe because  of the scattered  garbage and waste materials around us.  I thought to myself that moment If only this place would be cleaned and have some beautified by the local government  perhaps this Will become a rendezvous of the people living in the city.  Well, that was few years back , now what big change. Lion's beach  becomes a beautiful place to visit with. No more uninviting smell, no more scattered garbage and waste materials, no more grasses instead a beautiful carabao grass trimmed that makes the surroundings clean and  green. The change  is like  metamorphosis .
Queen Tuna Park  becomes a place of picnic of many families who has less budget  in going into  resorts. Kiosks and bench were properly arranged for gathering and for the people  who loves to unwind and relaxation.  What catches my attention  is the beautiful design in the entrance. A wonderful concept  of carved twin tuna plus well arranged flowers both sides of the entrance.  I really like  also the well designed  street lights that makes the beach beautiful and panoramic at night.  The bricks in the  pathways  are well arranged. I could really say that its a big accomplishment by the former administration.
