DOOMSDAY: IS THE WORLD CHANGING OR ENDING?

Last  week we heard the news over television and radio about the disaster happened in Negros Oriental  where intensity 6.9 magnitude earthquake attacked the place. It was horrible situation, too many lives were loss, too many hearts were hurt and in grief for  the lost of their loved ones.  I saw a man interviewed he’s one of the geologist and said that the said earthquake was new to them and they never expect that it would happen in that place.

It was Saturday night, me and my brothers and sisters were watching a film entitled 2012 Doomsday. The story was all about the predictions that the world might end this year 2012. I know that it was just a film , a combination of human’s imagination and the computerized visual effects. The film was good it all started with the scene from the outer space, the earth’s rotation then a group of experts  in the Mexico near in the volcano.

An earth quake happened in the place. That day on made the entire world alert for  the unexplained disaster. One thing that made me realized that the film has something, it was a family story. Three types of family were highlighted one is a father who has a missionary daughter, his daughter lives somewhere in Mexico city where she was assigned  to do a missionary works. A loving father who is a head of the office in charge of monitoring for earth’s rotation, and movements using a high-tech gadgets. Even the father was far away from his daughter yet he still able to call his daughter informing her to leave the place for  the disaster will happen. Second set of family a volunteer woman who has a mother  a very loving old mother.

The volunteer woman does not believe in God, she said to herself that everything can be explained by science, the illness has its cure, the earth’s problem has its reason and its changing , the climate change, and everything she said that everything can be truly be explained by science. Her old mother said something to her and that changes her belief, she said that everything was God’s plan, the day when she was born, the day when she became a mother it was the most beautiful thing that ever happened to her mother, it was a thing that cannot be explained by science- the miracle of life. The next  group of family , a man who has found a gold cross and believed that everything he has done meant something and believed also that he was tasked  by God to bring the cross to the pyramid for the next savior would be born.  Though it was all a fiction however it truly  touches my attention. Is the world really ends, or our individual world has its ending?
